Thetis took part in the conclusive workshop of the Experimental Field Programme in the sea

On 9th June 2005, at 9.30 a.m., at CNR-ISMAR - Institute of Marine Sciences Venice Branch - Marine and Coastal Systems, Thetis took part in the workshop “Intervention no. 72 - Experimental Field Programme in the Sea” within the sphere of the three-year programme for Environmental Protection 1994-1996 - Executive Project 93-T406-REL-G009 organised by the Regional Offices of Veneto and carried out by the high Adriatic Observatory of ARPAV.
Thetis took part in the 36th SIBM Conference in Trieste (9th - 13th May 2005)

Thetis presented a poster entitled “Assessment of the biomass of Tubularia Crocea (Agassiz, 1986) through photographic monitoring , in an area of the north Adriatic characterised by artificial barriers" (E. Molin- Thetis SpA; F. Maggiore - CNR - ISMAR, M. Zanella - Padua University) at the 36th SIBM Conference (Società Italiana di Biologia Marina - Italian Society of Marine Biology) held in Trieste from 9th to 13th May.
The work is part of the Regional Office of Veneto’s project “Intervention no. 72 - Experimental Field Programme in the Sea”.
The poster presented some of the results achieved through the photographic monitoring of the benthonic community present in an area of the North Adriatic characterised by artificial barriers.
Spazio Thetis: Enrico Tommaso De Paris >CHROMOSOMA< 8th June - 23rd July 2005

>CHROMOSOMA< is the name of the project Enrico T. De Paris (Mel - Belluno, 1960) has devised for the Spazio Thetis at the Arsenale Novissimo in Venice, as part of the collateral events of the 51st Venice Art Biennial.
The >CHROMOSOMA< installation is set up in the sixteenth century area of the Arsenale in a building which stretches out over more than 1,000 square metres. It consists in four large steel wire structures, each of which is approximately eight metres long, and developed using various kinds of materials, such as blown glass, silicon, PVC, monitors, videos, light and sound.
Thetis involved in the project for the reclamation of the "First Industrial Area" macro-island

The Master Plan for the reclamation of the contaminated sites of Porto Marghera has identified a system of 15 macro-islands for the overall confinement of the soil and contaminated groundwater of the entire Site of National Interest defined by Law 426/98 and subsequent delimitation pursuant to the Decree of the Ministry of the Environment of 23/02/00.
ITS-TAP project for Beijing, coordinated by Thetis, presented at the UITP world conference in Rome

At midday on 7th June, in Pavilion 32 of the Fiera di Roma (Rome trade fair), the Ministry of the Environment and the UITP held a special conference dedicated to the ITS-TAP project for Beijing. Wolfgang Meyer, Chairman of UITP, Corrado Clini, Chief Executive of the Ministry of the Environment and the Territory, Pan Shuda, Chief Engineer of Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau, Zhi Jun, Vice General Manager of Beijing Public Transport Holdings (BPT), Marino Mazzon, Head of the ITS Division at Thetis and Fulvio Vento, Chairman of Atac all spoke during the conference.
