  • Seminar to present final results of the 3-year MELa 1 (2001 - 2002 - 2003) monitoring programme

    Thetis conference room will host a seminar on Tuesday, 31st May, starting at 9 a.m., entitled “48.221 figures and further hypotheses. . . Final results of the three year MELa 1 (200 -2002-2003)” monitoring programme.
    The seminar has been organised within the sphere of the lake monitoring programme set up by the Magistrato alle Acque di Venezia (Venice Water Authority) through its distributor Consorzio Venezia Nuova (New Venice Consortium), which availed itself of Thetis’ technical collaboration.
    The main results of the three year’s monitoring work MELa 1 (Monitoraggi Ecosistema Lagunare 1 - Monitoring the Lake Ecosystem 1) will be presented during the seminar, to encourage an exchange of opinions.

  • Thetis will be at CIEPEC 2005 (China International Environment Protection Exhibition & Conference)

    Thetis will take part in “CIEPEC - China International Environment Protection Exhibition & Conference” with its own area inside the Italian pavilion. The event will be held from 7th - 10th June 2005 at CIEC - China International Exhibition in Beijing. The Italian Pavilion will present Italian technology within the environmental sphere and is funded entirely by the Ministry of the Environment and Territorial Protection, and organised by ICE - Istituto nazionale per il Commercio Estero (National Institute for Foreign Trade) on its behalf.
    CIEPEC is the most important Chinese biennial event for the environmental protection sector. It is sponsored by SEPA (China Association of Environmental Protection Industry) and organised by CAEPI (China Association of Environmental Protection Industry).

  • Thetis will be at UITP 2005, 56th World Congress to be held in Rome from 5th - 9th June 2005

    Thetis is a member of UITP, the International Association of Public Transportation, and will be present with its own stand at the 56th UITP World Congress and Exhibition to be held in Rome from 5th-9th June. The ITS-TAP Project (Intelligent Transport Systems for Traffic Air Pollution, for the city of Beijing) will be presented on the 7th June during one of the collateral events of this important congress.
    The Ministry of the Environment and Territorial Protection, ATAC, BPT (Beijing Public Transport Holdings ltd), EPB (Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau) and Thetis will all take part.

  • SIOSED Project: establishing the effects of reusing the most common lagoon sediments

    Through its distributor, Consorzio Venezia Nuova (New Venice Consortium), the Magistrato alle Acque di Venezia (Venice Water Board) has commissioned Thetis to carry out an experimental study on the environmental effects of moving lagoon sediments and reusing them for morphological restoration work in Venice lagoon.
    The scientific responsibility for the project has been entrusted to Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO), the prestigious scientific organisation of California University in San Diego (U.S.A.). SCRIPPS will work closely with Italian researchers and technicians from Thetis SpA, CNR-Istituto di Scienze Marine (Institute of Marine Science, Venice) and the Laboratorio di Biologia Marina in Aurisina (Laboratory of Marine Biology) and SELC. Work will begin in spring 2005 and last 27 months.

  • Thetis will be at the ICRAM conference about the sea and environmental quality

    Andrea Barbanti - Project Manager at Thetis’ Environmental and Civil Engineering Division - is to speak at the national conference organised by ICRAM (Institute for Scientific and Technological Research applied to the Sea): “The sea and environmental quality: research into the management of offshore platforms, beach feeding and reclamation work” to be held in Rome from 16th to 18th May 2005.
