Thetis has developed an intelligent system for reducing air pollution in Beijing

ITS - TAP is the Intelligent Transport System - Traffic Air Pollution monitoring system project the municipality of Beijing has entrusted to a consortium of Italian companies comprising THETIS, FATA DTS, ATAC and ECOTEMA and is a cutting-edge venture. It has taken its lead from the Kyoto protocol and Italian-Chinese cooperation directed at limiting the emission of pollutants. Thetis, the leading company in the consortium, is acting in partnership with the Environment Protection Bureau and Beijing Public Transport Corporation in Beijing. The aim of the project is to set up an integrated air monitoring system which, when it registers levels of pollution which exceed the limits permitted, will send this information to the traffic management authorities. Said authorities would then take action to limit traffic and increase the public transportation services, also acting on the other subsystems.
An Italian-Chinese workshop dealing with environmental improvement, was held at Thetis, in Venice

An Italian-Chinese workshop organised by the Ministry of the Environment and Territorial Protection was held at the Arsenale, Venice, in Thetis S.p.A.’s conference room on Saturday, 15th January. The workshop dealt with drawing up an environmental project for the third largest island in China, Chongming, situated beside the estuary of the Yangtze River, in the vicinity of Shanghai. The aim of the project is to build an environmentally compatible urban system using clean energy sources, and to develop environmentally sustainable agricultural and fishing activities.
In funzione una centralina meteorologica nella sede di Thetis

Dal mese di dicembre, l'Unità di Ingegneria Ambientale di Thetis ha messo in funzione, nella propria sede all'Arsenale di Venezia, una centralina meteorologica automatica per la registrazione continua dei principali parametri meteorologici (temperatura e umidità dell'aria, velocità e direzione del vento, pressione atmosferica). Dopo la necessaria validazione, tali dati saranno archiviati e risulteranno di supporto alle diverse attività di carattere ambientale in corso e future.
A breve è prevista la diffusione in tempo reale di questi dati via rete, sul sito web aziendale, nello spirito del “knowledge for a better environment”.

Il Kick-off del Progetto europeo MARNIS si svolgerà a Venezia presso la sede di Thetis

Il coordinamento di MARNIS (Maritime Navigation and Information Services, progetto di ricerca del VI Programma Quadro dell'Unione Europea che fa capo alla DG TREN, Direzione Generale per l'Energia e i Trasporti) svolgerà il proprio kick-off meeting dal 13 al 17 dicembre 2004 presso la sede di Thetis all'Arsenale di Venezia, ritenendo questo luogo sede ideale per avviare il progetto vista la sua vocazione marinara. E' prevista la partecipazione dei rappresentanti di tutti i partner e della DG TREN. Per sottolineare l'importanza dell'evento, la sera del 15 dicembre 2004 è prevista una cena presso Thetis alla presenza delle Autorità cittadine.
