Carbon Footprint: International Work Group Meets at Thetis

18 May 2010 – Thetis is currently hosting a delegation of experts from around the world that is working to produce guidelines that will be implemented internationally as ISO 14064-1 standards and employed to determine Organizational Carbon Footprints.
Thetis’ Energy Division, which utilizes ISO 14064 standards and other similar methods in advising companies on ways to reduce their impact on the climate, is participating in the discussions taking place in Venice from 17-19 May.  In addition to Thetis and Prof. Pernigotti, president of Club EMAS, the participants include experts in the sector appointed by national standards organizations, including UNI (Italy), AFNOR (France), Standards Malaysia, and Standards Australia, and by prestigious international bodies and organizations, such as the Autonomous Region of Catalonia, Japan’s Institute of Energy Economics and the Swiss multinational ABB.
This conference is part of a series of meetings that will lead to drafting the ISO/TR 14069 document, which will enable public and private bodies to produce greenhouse gas emissions inventories.
