Redevelopment of the Venice Arsenal
The theme of this seminar series is project management (starting with the most complex projects). Case studies are used to illustrate changes in this field in both the public and private sectors, highlighting the new professional skills required in management, and encouraging contemplation of the relationship between the demand by corporations and government and the supply of capable professionals by the university. The “CLAME/CLAPE Thursdays" represent the first result of an investigation into these topics (to support education) and present an opportunity to highlight potential synergistic relationships between the university and public and private professionals for the purpose of promoting a new three-year degree programme in Project Management, the only one of its kind in the Triveneto area.
Thetis’ selection of the Venice Arsenal as its main headquarters required careful integrated planning of the building’s energy and architectural aspects.
Thetis’ presentation will include the following speakers:
• Antonio Paruzzolo, Recovering Functionality - Innovation and Complexity;
• Andrea Bondì, The Arsenal and Management: An Ancient Story;
• Giovanni Zarotti, From Planning to Construction;
• Alberto Cecchetto, Architectural and Urban Planning Opportunities.
The presentations will be introduced by Amerigo Restucci, Rector of IUAV University of Venice, Ezio Micelli, Director of the Project Management and Construction Management degree programmes, and Aldo Norsa, coordinator of the seminar series.
The seminars are sponsored by Intercantieri Vittadello, Mantovani and Thetis.
