Thetis’ Involvement in the FREILOT Project
On 23 April Thetis was in Brussels to attend the start of FREILOT, a pilot project for energy efficient urban transport co-financed by the European Community; the project involves companies that provide technologies and services, as well as representatives of local authorities, transport agencies and companies that have fleets of vehicles for transporting merchandise originating from throughout Europe.
The objective of the project is to develop tools that will take a holistic approach to improving transport efficiency and enable cities to reduce fuel consumption, thereby improving air quality and reducing CO2 emissions.
As part of the FREILOT project, the applications developed will be tested in four European cities: Lyon, Helmond, Bilboa and Cracow.
Thetis’ task for this project is to create a reservation system for parking areas that is designed to optimize merchandise distribution activities in urban areas. The demonstration of the application developed by Thetis will take place in the city of Lyon.
