Thetis awarded EMAS certification
On 15th December 2005 Thetis obtained certification attesting to its compliance with community regulation (EC) n. 761/ 01 (EMAS, registration number I 000405).
EMAS certification is awarded to organisations who demonstrate a real commitment to environmental improvement and intend to provide the other parties concerned, the control authorities and the citizens with a tool for evaluating the efficiency and environmental effectiveness of the organisation in question.
EMAS certifications represent high-credibility promotional tools since both the EMAS registration and the Eco-Label are granted by a public body, the Eco-labelling Board Ecoaudit agency (set up by the Italian Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of the Territory). To perform the functions assigned to it, the agency makes use, in its turn, of the technical support made available to it by Italian environmental control agencies APAT and ARPA.
