Thetis and Vento di Venezia to participate in the Big Blu Boat and Sea Expo in Rome

Thetis will participate with Vento di Venezia at the Big Blu Boat and Sea Expo in Rome from Saturday 19 February to Sunday 27 February. A section of the expo called the Sea Heritage Exhibition is devoted to “publicizing” the sea by promoting its culture and increasing awareness of both its beauty and critical importance, thereby protecting this unique and precious resource.
The “Sea Heritage Best Communication Award 2011”, an international prize for communication strategies and activities used to support scientific, technological, cultural and artistic projects relating to the Blue Planet, will be awarded during the show. The Certosa Island Urban Park Project, developed by Thetis and architect Tobia Scarpa, will be presented at the event. The contest recognizes and awards the best communication strategies for research projects, market initiatives and cultural projects that promote and enhance the value of marine and environmental heritage and seeks to stimulate collaboration between businesses, communication professionals, scientists and institutes. Thetis and Vento di Venezia will share a stand at the show. They will present the Certosa Island Urban Park Project, a redevelopment project designed to rehabilitate the island, thereby returning an important area of the historic city of Venice to productive use. The project focuses on urban quality, environmental sustainability, efficiency and experimentation and envisages an area devoted to scientific and cultural promotion, with research projects and cultural programmes designed to promote and enhance the value of the area and its marine heritage. Thetis will also have an opportunity to present its national and international experience in the field of environmental improvement and sustainable regional development.
