Thetis involved in the project for the reclamation of the "First Industrial Area" macro-island
The Master Plan for the reclamation of the contaminated sites of Porto Marghera has identified a system of 15 macro-islands for the overall confinement of the soil and contaminated groundwater of the entire Site of National Interest defined by Law 426/98 and subsequent delimitation pursuant to the Decree of the Ministry of the Environment of 23/02/00.
On the macro-island denominated “1st Industrial Area”, several companies (Fincantieri, Simar, Vega, Immobiliare Veneziana, Pilkington, Italiana Coke, Intermodale Marghera, Fintitan, Vega, Monte Marghera, Nova Marghera, Immobiliare Laguna, Parco Marghera, Venezia Tecnologie) are formulating a common project for the reclamation of the surface strata of the entire macro-island. The Porto Marghera Industrial Area Authority, in conjunction with Unindustria, has assigned the task of producing the reclamation project to Consorzio Venezia Ricerche (CVR). CVR has involved the following companies in the formulation of the project: Thetis, Vesta, INTEC and SINERGEO.
Thetis’s task will be to co-ordinate all the planning activities, in conjunction with CVR, and to participate, as party in charge and executor, in the drafting of the final project plan.
The project is due to be presented by the end of July 2005.
