Thetis is one of the founders of the new Club EMAS Veneto
Thetis is one of the founding partners of the new Club EMAS Veneto, officially established on 6 July.
This initiative, promoted by the Region of Emilia-Romagna and now joined by the Veneto Region, proposes the creation of a network of businesses and organizations for the purpose of publicizing and enhancing the value of becoming EMAS certified.
EMAS, an acronym for "Eco-Management and Audit Scheme", is a tool created by the European Community that organizations (companies, public agencies, etc.) can voluntarily participate in to evaluate and improve their environmental performance and provide the public with information on the particular organization’s environmental management policies. The primary objective of EMAS is to contribute to sustainable economic development by highlighting the roles and responsibilities of businesses. Like the earlier initiative promoted by Club EMAS Emilia-Romagna, Club EMAS Veneto’s initiative has the scope of increasing knowledge and awareness through a series of activities directed towards various targets (for example: local authorities, associations, citizens, consumers, etc.).
More specifically, the objectives shared by the member companies are:
• to strengthen the visibility of EMAS and Ecolabel and to improve the communicative effectiveness of the two organizations;
• to strengthen the visibility of the Emilia-Romagna and Veneto EMS and Ecolabel organizations and to capitalize on the experience they have gained;
• to initiate or develop relationships between the two regional systems (Emilia-Romagna and Veneto) of the EMAS/Ecolabel organizations and potential contacts;
• to establish a network of organizations with expertise and influence in the field of sustainable consumption and production and to create an identity for this network.
