Thetis illustrates Certosa's project

Within the 12th International Architecture Exhibition as a backdrop, the project to rejuvenate Certosa Island in Venice will be introduced tomorrow, Thursday 26 August, at 18:30 at the Castello delle Polveri on the island. Vento di Venezia, the winner of a public bid process conducted by the city administration, will introduce the project, which was designed by architect Tobia Scarpa and coordinated by Thetis (the project manager).
Thetis was invited to collaborate on the project due to its considerable experience and expertise in a variety of fields and its ability to take an integrated and systematic approach in its work. Thetis coordinated and developed the general planning, including the facilities and buildings, conducted all of the preliminary analyses and surveying, carried out investigations and drafted the required environmental studies. Important specialists and experts in the sector were involved in the planning phase, including Dr. Lorenzo Bonometto for scientific studies of the island’s natural characteristics, the Spanish studio Amp Arquitectos for the floating swimming pool, Ingemar Srl for the maritime infrastructure and Studio Rinaldo for the hydraulic modelling.
At tomorrow’s press conference, Enrico Bigi and Andrea Bondì from Thetis, along with Alberto Sonino, the Director of Vento di Venezia, and architect Tobia Scarpa, will discuss the criteria used to select the project’s architecture, services and technical solutions, which will strongly impact the island’s future. The exhibition will feature updates of the project as it progresses. It will be open to the public from Monday to Friday, by appointment.
