Thetis sponsors the super maxi "Montenegro Wild Beauty"
The Thetis-sponsored Montenegro Wild Beauty competed against 1800 other yachts in the Barcolana and placed 9th overall – a great start to the super maxi’s voyage to promote respect for the environment.
In addition, the yacht is now one of the leading contenders for the upcoming 2011 international competitions. The super maxi from Montenegro will spend the next few years touring the Mediterranean to publicize the beauty of this young and dynamic country that is becoming a sustainable tourism destination. The first stop will be on Sunday, 17 October, when the yacht will be in Venice for the Veleziana – a regatta starting in the open seas featuring more than 130 participants.
The Veleziana will also serve as a backdrop for the introduction of the "Sustainable Tourism in the Bay of Kator" project, scheduled for 16-17 October at Spazio Thetis in the Venice Arsenal. Participants in the event, which is part of a joint effort between Italy and Montenegro to promote sustainable development, will include Antonio Paruzzolo of Thetis SpA, and the following representatives from Montenegro: Marija Maja Catovic, Mayor of Kator, Andrija Lompar, Minister of Transport, Navigation and Telecommunications and Daliborka Pejovic, Director of the Environmental Protection Agency. The Undersecretary of the Italian Ministry of the Environment, Roberto Menia, and the Director General of the Ministry of the Environment, Corrado Clini, will also be in attendance.
Giorgio Orsoni, the Mayor of Venice, has been invited.
