Climate change: experts from around the world meet at the Venice Arsenal
6 September 2011 – After hosting the IPCC summit in 2009, Venice is once again the setting for a climate change conference. Thetis S.p.A., headquartered in the Venice Arsenal, will host an important international conference entitled “The Venice conference: improving the capacity to assess and to adapt to climate change in urban coastal regions” on 12-15 September 2011. This by-invitation conference provides an important opportunity to analyze and discuss the timely topic of the impact of climate change on urban coastal regions.
Spazio Thetis: A new chapter in the art project Contaminante at the Arsenal
31 August 2011 – On Friday, 23 September at 17:00 an intriguing new chapter of the project Contaminante – Per il Pensiero che sarà, which combines various art forms including installations, performances and music, will open at Spazio Thetis in the Arsenale Novissimo.

17 June 2011 – On 23 June at 17:30, a solo exhibition of works by Diego Birelli will open at Spazio Thetis in the Venice Arsenal, adding to the numerous exhibitions for the 54th International Art Exhibition already on display at the venue.
The first event, “Round the Clock”, opens 1 June
30 May 2011 – During the most anticipated artistic event of the year – the 54th International Art Exhibition, held in Venice from June to November – Spazio Thetis at the Venice Arsenal will host eight cultural events, making it a focal point for spectators to experience, rather than merely visit, the Biennale.
The first tour of Italy by electric car will arrive in Mestre on 1 June
30 May 2011 – On 1 June the first tour of Italy by electric car, promoted by the association “Corrente in Movimento” with the support of the Ministry of the Environment, will arrive in Piazza Ferretto in Mestre, bringing it very close to Venice, the city where the GPS technology used in the 500 electric vehicles participating in the tour was developed.
Spazio Thetis: an important contemporary art and music event will be held on 20 May
06 May 2011 – Beginning 20 May, Spazio Thetis in the Venice Arsenal will host two international contemporary art and music events as part of the “Contaminante” project: the opening of two installations, by artists Alfredo Romano and Maurizio Elettrico, and a talk/conference entitled “Suoni dal Confine”, curated by Leandro Pisano, which will feature musical performances by Enrico Coniglio and Yasuhiro Morinaga.
