A Preview of Culture_Nature at the Finissage of “Creativity and Sustainability”
The announcement was made yesterday, during the finissage (closing party) of the Creativity and Sustainability exhibition at Spazio Thetis in the Venice Arsenal. Three of the four works selected were installations: Vito Romanazzi’s original Ortociclo (Garden-cycle) composed of a bicycle, cart, earth, seeds and an irrigation system; Antonella Besia’s Orme (Vestiges); and Stefano Spera's Interiorlandscapes, an installation captured in a photograph. The only non-installation to be chosen was Marco Rossi’s Quaderno (Notebook), a work on paper.
The four artists will join more than fifty other artists participating in the Culture_Nature project, which Spazio Thetis will host from 27 August to 21 November 2010.
These four young artists were singled out for special recognition by the exhibition’s scientific committee, which was composed of the architects Alessandra Coppa, Fortunato D'Amico, Filippo De Filippi, Antonietta Grandesso, Andreas Kipar and Roberto Semprini, as well as Academy of Fine Art of Brera professors Andrea B. Del Guercio, Gastone Mariani, Angela Occhipinti, Stefano Pizzi, and Cristina Renso, President of the Flangini Association.
