Thetis acted as a consultant in planning containment and remediation solutions for the “Caffaro” plant in Torviscosa and the adjacent land owned by Caffaro.The activities were conducted in conjunction with Studio Altieri S.p.A. and specifically involved:
• Identification of how the site fits into regulatory, planning, hydrogeological, hydraulic and environmental frameworks;
• Determination of solutions for both the entire site and specific problems in each macro-area.
• Project planning for the containment and remediation solutions selected;
• Estimation of the timeframe and cost of the activities;
• Pre-feasibility environmental study and urban planning study. The resulting project (designed by Sogesid S.p.A.) was approved, with limitations, by the Services Conference (planning meeting) convened by the Ministry of the Environment on 23/03/2010.
