Thetis implemented a system for the GPS tracking and tracing, service recognition and weighing automation of over 700 vehicles dedicated to street cleaning and garbage collection in Milan.
The system includes a control centre and software modules for service data analysis and for the automation of weighing procedures.
The onboard computers collect positions and service data and send them via GPRS to the control centre at the end of each work mission. A specific software module compares the actual service with the planned one and manages all messages inserted by the drivers.
The weighing procedures are carried out automatically, thus avoiding any stops on the weighbridge. Data from each work missions are automatically associated to the weighing process and the total time for the completion of the mission after weighing is reduced to less than 10 seconds. The system uses specific TAGs with RFID technology to recognise the vehicle approaching the weighbridge.
