The AVM Pilot project consists of an on line fleet management system with GPS localisation of buses. The system transmits information to passengers in real time via GPRS at intelligent bus stops featuring LED messages panels.
The system includes an:
- operations centre loading daily the service planning. It manages modifications of the service in real time collecting information from the buses via GPRS;
- intelligent on board systems include on board computer, GPRS communication system and wireless LAN, audio messages capability (optional), passengers counter, ticketing equipment interfaces;
- bus stops feature updated messages on service condition and expected arrival time.
