The design for a new visitors centre in Fusina Park (Ve) is part of the overall assignment to produce working drawings for the Fusina Integrated Project, a complex intervention for the treatment and reutilization of wastewater generated in the Venice region. In particular, on behalf of Insula SpA and with contributions from the Department of Architectural Design at IUAV University, Thetis has developed plans for the building that will serve as a welcome centre for visitors to the aquatic park, which will be constructed as part of the phytoremediation plant (constructed wetland) on “Cassa di Colmata A” (a manmade island created with canal excavation materials). The building and facilities were designed to maximize energy savings and utilize natural energy sources (geothermal and photovoltaic).
