Since 1999 Thetis has undertaken the planning for securing and restoration of some of the main buildings in the north area of the Historic Venice Arsenal built between the 16th and the 20th centuries.The main activities undertaken to date are as follows:
- the recovery and adaptation of the margins of the north area of the Arsenal. The project includes the securing of the Torre di Porta Nuova and the realisation of a new wet dock for shipbuilding adjacent to the basin areas;
- securing and restoration of the warehouses of the “Galeazze” and of the “Fonderie”, with the objective of recovery of the large roof beams, the strengthening of the masonry, the restoration of the wall surfaces and the windows;
- the boundary wall of the Arsenal from the lagoon side along a length of more than 500 m, by its secure consolidation;
- securing the warehouses of “San Cristoforo”, with the objective of securing the building, by the restoration of the roofing and the strengthening of the walls.
