Production of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the preliminary design for the expansion of the San Michele in Isola cemetery in Venice-2nd Lot, in conformity with Regional Law 10/99.
The project examined in the EIS provides for the creation of a new area emerging adjacent to the current cemetery island, realised through the confinement of mud resulting from the dredging of canals in the old town centre of Venice.
In conformity with the requirements of DPCM 27/12/1988, the EIS is divided into the following parts:
- a programme reference framework;
- a design reference framework;
- an environmental reference framework;
- a non-technical summary.
The impact estimate was developed by examining potential work/environmental interference through the use of suitable indicators and referring the evaluations to a homogeneous impact scale calibrated for each of the environmental components.
