The DIVAS project is promoted by the Region of Veneto and co-financed by the European Union through the INTERREG/CARDS–PHARE 2004-2006 Adriatic New Neighbourhood Programme.The objectives of the project are to define a standardized methodology for Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) based on European and national regulations and applicable past experiences, and to create a decision support system (DSS). The DIVAS prototype software is specifically designed to be used by small municipalities for the purpose of applying SEA procedures to urban planning.
DIVAS therefore offers support for implementing the evaluation process, particularly in the environmental report drafting phase, through a methodology based on the specifications of Directive 42/2001/EC.
In this context, Thetis participated in the design of the DSS and handled the development of the software component.
