Drafting of the Environmental Impact Study (EIS) for the project to increase exploitation of the “Costa Alta” mine located in the Province of Vicenza, in the municipality of San Nazario on the western slopes of the Grappa Massif, and initiation of the procedure for the regional Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).The EIA procedure arranged with the client, in compliance with Veneto Regional Law no. 10/99, included provisions for a scoping phase; the relevant documentation for this phase was drafted and subsequently presented to and discussed with the regional EIA Commission.
This process was conducted in close collaboration with the project planners and provided for inspections and field investigations, focusing particularly on natural aspects as the affected area is located within and in proximity to SCI – SPA areas.
The service provided by Thetis throughout the scoping phase and the investigation phase after the EIS was formally submitted included technical assistance for the client during the informational and public meetings, and the meetings with the EIA Commission, which were part of the regional EIA procedure.
