Supply of the system, as well as a five-year maintenance service and technical hardware and software assistance agreement. The system is composed of: an operations centre within ACTV, 130 radio tracking systems aboard the boats, 30 user information systems and video surveillance at as many water bus stops. The system is connected by a CDN line to Thetis’ service centre (control tower), which provides location data acquired by VHF radio tracking. The system enables ACTV to track the position of every boat in their fleet in real time, confirm early or late arrivals, and check on the condition of the boats, as well as alarms that may be raised.
The messages displayed on 35 information panels placed at 30 landings normally contain details about the actual schedule for the next four runs. At other times, the panels are used to provide information about the service.
Through a system of video cameras, the operations centre visually connects with 30 landings to evaluate the number of passengers and determine if there is a need to introduce relief routes.
