Conceptual design and development of a multi-user system for the management of waterborne traffic in the Venice lagoon area. The system is operated under a service contract scheme between Thetis and the user club. Each user can access his own traffic data.
The system is designed to collect the waterborne traffic data provided by the monitored vessels (DGPS and VHF radio, radar techniques) and to automatically update a database of traffic, environment and territory accessibility data, with the purpose of managing the logistic systems.
The ACTV public transport fleet management application includes the monitoring of over 130 vessels and the information to passengers and video control at 30 landing places.
The overall system includes a real-time supervision control room connected to user control rooms, environment and territory data acquisition systems, traffic data acquisition systems and post-processing systems.
