Updating of the Intervention Plan 2000
Assessment phase:
- updating of estimates of pollutant loads due to civil, industrial and wide area origins (agricultural, animal rearing, urban, atmospheric) affecting the drainage basin;
- updating of the census of pollution abatement structures (treatment plants, sewers, structures to reduce urban and agricultural loads) in the drainage basin.
Design phase:
- identification of guidelines to achieve the stated quality objectives in the lagoon;
- identification of pollution abatement measures to be implemented, formulation of a programme of work and the relative financial requirement (about 1 billion €);
- formulation of guidelines to define a plan for the qualitative-quantitative monitoring of watercourses draining into the lagoon.
The contract was awarded to the Joint venture consisting of Thetis (prime contractor) and Palomar.
