Thetis partner of “MUSES – MultiUses in European Seas” project

MUSES team PhotoFollowing the kick-off meeting held in Brussels on 13-14 December 2016 (team’s photo), “MUSES – Multi-Uses in European Seas” project funded by the EU H2020 programme gets into the heart of the project activities. MUSES analyses the concept of multi-use of the European marine sea space, assessing real and perceived barriers, identifying challenges and opportunities and evaluating expected impacts and benefits of multiple and innovative uses of the sea. Within the two-years project, the MUSES international consortium coordinated by Marine Scotland and involving Thetis will provide a regional overview of multi-use of the marine space in EU sea basins (Baltic Sea, North Sea, Eastern Atlantic, Mediterranean Sea and Black Sea), develop a comprehensive set of 8 case studies (coordinated by Thetis) of real or potential multi-use, and elaborate an Action Plan to address challenges and opportunities of multi-uses of oceans providing recommendation for future actions.
