Arte Laguna Prize is continuing to create synergies between art and business, by estblishing partnerships with companies operating in the Veneto region, but also at the international level, and which are interested in contemporary art. We are now talking about Thetis SpA, one of the foremost engineering companies in Italy, founded as a Venetian reality, and having specific expertise in the field of sustainable development and environmental engineering operating in the lagoon of Venice, as well as in the whole country and abroad. Since its foundation, Thetis has promoted and supported contemporary art, and from this year the company has decided to design and create together with Arte Laguna Prize, a new contest section: Land Art, open to artists worldwide, with no restrictions to creativity. The intent is indeed to leave the maximum expressive freedom to artists in investigating the landscape and in putting nature and its features in the spotlight. The projects submitted must be new and they may be designed for any environment, be it a forest or a cliff, without forgetting the Venetian Lagoon, and the artistic interventions must provide an interaction with the environment for which they were conceived. The jury selecting the 10 best projects includes Roberto Zancan, chief curator of Inside the Academy Program at BE OPEN Foundation and Claudio Bertorelli, landscape designer and Director of Fabbri Foundation, besides the prize curator Igor Zanti Award and the representatives of Thetis. The best creative proposal will be awarded € 7,000 euro and announced during the opening ceremony of the finalists exhibition at the Arsenale in Venice. Entries are open through November 6th directly at artelagunaprize.com See you in March 2015 to discover the winning ideas and the overall winner of the category.
