Thetis analysed the vulnerability to climate change of the water resources and of the water supply system of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region
The Master Plan, promoted by a group of managers of the Integrated Water Service of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Eastern Veneto, was entrusted to a group of professionals led by Idrostudi S.r.l. As part of the preparation of the Master Plan, Thetis provided its skills on the issues of climate change.
In particular, Thetis framed the most up-to-date knowledge on the historical series and on the expected trends in the study area by 2100, focusing on the most relevant climate variables that affect the water supply system.
Furthermore, following a conceptual model developed ad hoc for the study, the main elements of vulnerability of the water resources used for drinking purposes were assessed, elaborating qualitative analyses on the expected impacts on the region’s water supply system, considering possible alternative scenarios of climate change.
