Thetis, collaborated, as a partner of the “Consorzio Venezia Nuova”, for the construction supervisor of several projects described in the Plan of environmental compensation, conservation and requalification measures of the SCIs and SPAs (so-called “Piano Europa”). This Plan, implemented by the Italian Government after the Mose infringement procedure, affects the coasts of Venice and Cavallino-Treporti Municipalities.

The activities are focused on the environmental requalification of the coasts, paying particular attenction to areas having an imprtant naturalistic and landscape value which are at risk due to the tourism that, during the last decades, has caused them degradation.
The areas that need intervantions have been identified in collaboration with the municipal administrations of Cavallino-Treporti and Venice, and the Regional Forestry Service.
The criteria used to identify the aforementioned areas were as follows:

  • degradation and erosion due to human disturbance;
  • shoreline evolution;
  • climatic characteristics (wind direction and strength);
  • availability of space on the beach;
  • indications provided by the detailed plans of the beaches.

While, areas subjected to interventions are:

  • Ca’ Savio – Municipality of Cavallino Treporti;
  • Ca’ Ballarin – Municipality of Cavallino Treporti;
  • Alberoni-Malamocco – Municipality of Venice.
