Thetis will be present in Barcelona from 3 to 7 May 2015, at the SETAC Europe 25th annual meeting which is Europe’s biggest meeting on environmental toxicology and chemistry. SETAC, Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, is a worldwide no-profit organization aimed at fostering the development of principles and practices for protection, enhancement and management of sustainable environments by bringing together representatives from academia, business and governments to facilitate the implementation of science and academic in environmental policy. Eng. Sebastiano Carrer will provide an analysis of pressures and impacts derived from the presence of emerging contaminants such as PBDEs and alkylphenols in different aquatic environments. Dr. Cristina Nasci will discuss the preliminary results of a study on the use of active biomonitoring in assessing the potential impact on coastal ecosystems of submarine discharge point of an industrial integrated waste water treatment plant. During the conference will also be held the annual meeting of SETAC Italian Branch, of which dr. Nasci is Past President.
