Thetis illustrates guidelines for the analysis of Land-Sea Interactions at La Valletta – Malta, 20th of September 2018

fig2Integrated planning and management of coastal areas requires understanding of interactions between land and marine components. In the frame of the EU-funded SIMWESTMED project, Thetis and PAP-RAC have drafted a document proposing methodological guidelines to address Land-Sea Interactions (LSI) within the processes of Maritime Spatial Planning and Integrated Coastal Zone Management. These guidelines will be illustrated and discussed with SIMWESTMED partners at a technical meeting organized by Malta Environment and Planning Authority (MEPA) to be held in La Valletta on the 20th of September 2018. The meeting will provide the opportunity to gather feedback from planners and other coastal and marine stakeholders which will be used to finalize the LSI guidelines.
